Topaz Labs just introduced Topaz Studio, a unified subscription that combines all of their desktop, web, and mobile apps under one plan. It includes unlimited image cloud rendering, 300 monthly video cloud credits, and supports up to 32MP exports. Sounds great, right?
The catch? Topaz has now bundled everything into subscription tiers — Cloud Collection ($29/month), Cloud Collection Pro ($58/month), and Topaz Studio ($37/month). While that might be convenient for heavy users, it means there is no longer a separate price for individual products like Topaz Bloom, which I have covered before on this site and genuinely liked.
For me personally, this changes the equation. I never use video tools, yet the new bundles mean I would also pay for those. To access higher resolutions, I’d even need the Pro plan — $58 per month or $696 annually. That is simply too steep for the value I’d get out of it.
I think Topaz is missing an opportunity here by not keeping à-la-carte pricing available for those of us who only want one or two tools. Maybe the upcoming Topaz Mosaic will change my mind, but for now, I will stick with my current combination of Topaz Gigapixel and Magnific. As a bonus, Magnific also doubles as a very capable AI image generator, which makes the decision easier.
