Radio Kootwijk

Radio Kootwijk building A on the Veluwe built in 1918.The main building of the former transmitter park, Building A, is a national monument. The Art Deco-style building, with sculptures by sculptor Hendrik van den Eijnde, is a hybrid of the Berlin and Amsterdam School. It served as the setting for the American film Mindhunters (released 2004) and the Dutch film Ver van familie (filming in 2007). Several music videos were also shot there. The building mainly serves as a venue for events. Earlier, Dutch singer Willy Derby had a hit with the song “Hallo Bandoeng”. This title is a reference to the words with which Queen Mother Emma opened the radio telephone service with the Dutch East Indies.
